Essential Metabolic Mineral
Iodine is a vital mineral that research is finding most people are chronically deficient in. Dr. David Brownstein, a leading Iodine researcher, has found that 96% of the population is deficient in this essential mineral. Iodine is critical for proper development and function of our glandular system, intellectual capacity, and immune function just to name a few. It is much more necessary than just thyroid function and can be a large contributor to overall health. Iodine is essential for our body to protect itself from saturation of contaminants such as radioactive isotopes, and toxic halogens such as fluoride, chlorine, and bromine ever prevalent in our water, food and environment. Iodine is essential for brain function and intelligence. Numerous studies have emerged showing the importance of iodine during pregnancy, not only to help the mother's thyroid work better, but specifically for the cognitive and neurological development of the child.
The Root Cause? Auto-Immune Thyroid Problems and Gut Health
Every 20 minutes, your entire blood supply circulates through your thyroid. If your gut is compromised, or “leaky”, food toxins can enter the blood stream and congest the thyroid. The thyroid needs iodine to do its job and keep itself free of toxins. When iodine levels are low, toxins that entered the bloodstream from the gut collect in the thyroid and cause the immune system to react to the thyroid. This is where Auto-immune conditions, such as Hashimoto's, typically develop.
While Iodine is greatly needed by the thyroid during this time, its congested and auto-immune condition prevent iodine from being a one stop, cure-all. Healing the gut, cleaning the blood, calming inflammation, and modulating the immune system all come first.
On Thyroid Medication?
Thyroid medications increase the bodies need for iodine. They do not replace the need for this essential nutrient that is needed by every cell in your body.
Below is information from the researchers of our superior iodine supplement:
There are more than seventy signs of thyroid imbalances (see a few below), which may impair your patient's health. As the normal thyroid regulates metabolism, imbalances in the thyroid may first come to your attention as decreasing levels of energy - tiredness, lethargy, muscle aches and the like. With just a few drops of water-soluble non toxic ammonium iodide, metabolism can be dramatically changed to support as a food supplement.
The most common complaints, after low energy levels are depression, cold hands and feet, inability to gain or lose weight, loss of hair, brittle or irregular nails, redness and chaffing behind the heels. As with all issues of your health you should see your health professional whether Iodine or any health product is appropriate for your condition.
An under-functioning thyroid is often undetected on a blood panel. According to Broda Barnes, M.D. the blood test criterion for thyroid disease should never be the "be-all or end-all" in the diagnosis. This is just one parameter and often an inadequate one. The best test for hypothyroidism is the basal metabolic rate (BMR). Test your BMR by:
Place a thermometer by your bed. Shake the thermometer down to below 96 degrees.
Immediately upon waking place the thermometer under your armpit and leave it there for 10 minutes before getting up.
The reading should be between 98.2 degrees and 97.2. Outside that reading generally indicates a thyroid imbalance.
Other ways to check the thyroid are TBM, AK therapy localize, iodine skin test.
Jeffrey Bland, Ph.D. says "there are certain other blood test criteria to corroborate the hypothyroid diagnosis with the Barnes basal metabolic rate." See below
- Cholesterol in excess of 252
- Triglyceride level greater than 200
- Total CPK level above 30
- BUN to creatinine ratio less than 12
- LDH level greater than 40
- Cholesterol to HDL ratio greater than 5

• Bronchial asthma
• Bronchial cough
• Cartilage tenderness, intercoastal rib tenderness
• Cellular exhaustion
• Children: inhibited development
• Cold hands and feet
• Digestion disturbances
• Enlargement of glands, other than thyroid
• Eye dryness
• Fungal infections
• Goiter: simple
• Incomplete functioning of glands, especially thyroid
• Infection vulnerability
• Low basal metabolic rate
• Low blood and saliva iodine levels
• Low energy
• Malignancy tendency
• Overabundance of mucous secretions
• Radiation exposure - thyroid gland symptoms resulting from accidental or wartime exposure to radiation.
• Reduced flow of endo-secretions
• Respiration difficulties
• Serous accumulation
Additional Comments on Thyroid Health
It is essential to nourish and cleanse our thyroid gland even if blood tests show it is working fine. Other key products for Thyroid health would be Adrenal Stress Ease, Ashwagandha, Coconut Oil and Milk Powder, Gelatinized Maca, Magnesium, MSM, and Detoxify.
It should also be noted to be cautious with foods containing goitrogens, especially if you have any thyroid conditions. Goitgrogens may interfere with iodine uptake and overall thyroid function. Keep in mind goitrogens are reduced somewhat by cooking and fermentation. One way to offset the consumption of goitrogenic foods is to consume additional amounts of iodine. Please find a list of goitrogenic foods below. You will see that cruciferous vegetables, top the list.
Top Goitrogenic Foods- Bok Choy, Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale, Kohlrabi, Mustard and Mustard greens, Radishes, Rutabagas, Turnips, Raw Maca Root
Foods with Smaller Amounts of Goitrogens- Bamboo shoots, Peaches, Peanuts, Pears, Pine Nuts, Spinach, Strawberries, Sweet Potatoes
How to Take
Usage: Start with 1 drop in 2-4 oz of water for two weeks to get your body acclimated to additional iodine then increase from there if desired or as recommended by your health care professional. For some patients who have determined they are very iodine deficient and want to "load" iodine, a typical dosage is ten to fifteen drops a day for ten days to two weeks. You can back off to a maintenance dose of one to five drops per day or none at all for a period of time. It is best to gradually increase dosage and gradually decrease dosage by one drop at a time each day so any detoxification symptoms are lessened and the body gets time to adjust. Additional selenium intake is recommended for high dosages of iodine. Just 3-4 brazil nuts per day is a great way to ensure adequate selenium.
Forms and Potency: 1 drop supplies 1.8mg free form iodine and iodide. Our ammonium bound iodide is superior to potassium bound iodide (ie, Lugol's). The Ammonium turns into an inert gas when it hits the stomach so iodide is left in its free form for the body to use as needed. We do not recommend the use of sodium or a potassium iodide. Those iodides are not free form and completely water soluble. These iodides tend to be more aggressive in the body and can cause allergic reactions, heart palpitations, and depress the thyroid in some patients. Our formula does not do this.
